Happy things...1st
Its just such a cool way to stay positive... well... i thought of doing the same myself.. and here's my 1st of the lot. and if you ask me ... what was so good today... a lot.. some honest people i'm around in this mad race... found my lost credit card.. and this is not good.. realised for a 100th time what a waste i'm in managing my personal life!!!!... but good news.. i'm getting better.. :)
And the best part.. i finally started this blog :) :) :)

“Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation”, so said the famous Oscar Wilde.
We talk about individualism, as our birth right; we believe we are all individuals, living a free life, guarded by nothing but our free will. But is that not an illusion, when we are all trying to be someone that is acceptable by the society at large.
Take this for example… A manager who wants to hire a new employee, would say, I want someone who can think for himself, take his own decisions, is capable of looking at the larger picture….. guess you get the gist. When the actual hiring process is on, people will get rejected (things not written on paper), because of the way they speak, they look, or some action which makes the manager uncomfortable.
The same principle holds true for our personal life. How many times do we look at a stranger and say.. “Oh my God, what on earth is he wearing, does he have no fashion sense at all”. Fashion, created by few, and is mostly in the mind, has everyone dressing up the same. Aren’t we all guilty of “the 1st impression” syndrome?

I’m not saying the manager is at fault, having the 1st impression is wrong, but my point is we are all comfortable with the people who are more like us. We have our comfort zone, and we are more at ease with people who are more like us.
So the real question now, since we are all different by the very essence of our being, and at the same time we have this great, unwritten, undefined need to be accepted…. We change… or do we really just pretend to be someone we’re not.
We know which is the right book to read, so we read the book, the person whose quotes are acceptable to all, so we make sure we know the right quotes… though we might not know when to use them appropriately..
“If I'm going to sing like someone else, then I don't need to sing at all.” As quoted by a singer, I don’t know who.
Isn’t that the reason, why there is so much dissatisfaction? The yesteryears are missed by all.
In my opinion, it’s not that TV, or internet or malls that are in themselves a problem, it’s that we need to be updated with the latest movies, and soaps, and what’s happening all the time. If we all try to be the same, are we any better than the sheep…… who move in a herd.
Change is important, change is essential, but we change.. not because we want to, but we think we have to. Worse yet, we pretend to have changed.

“She rescues him right back……..”
Ever wondered how each one of us have ghost in the past we need rescuing from….. things we’d like to change or at least wish there was a second chance….. and how once in a while a person comes along with whom we can share ourselves…….. not who we are supposed to be……
It’s just that when such a person comes along we need to have the wisdom to recognize it…. The courage to accept it…. And the passion to own it with all we have…..
I’ve often wondered if it is only one person… ‘the person’… or is it all the friends who come in our journey …called life… who help us to face life..... to be more than we would otherwise be… to challenge us… and to give us the courage to face challenges…..
I’ve had in my life… lots of friends.. thanks to whom… I’ve been able to face all the challenges life has thrown my way… and its because of them that I sincerely believe that there’s God… and he in his own way takes care …
There are times in my life where I wonder if I did the right thing…. And there is no way of knowing…. But then I know these friends will stand by my side… no matter what…. Not judging…. Just being there….

Why.... mykindofeggs???
Its a simple story of a twisted girl.. who doesn't know her own mind... and so she keeps running away from her wedding..
Well the reporter.. hero ... asks the same ques to all her ex's & to her current fiance ... "wht kind of eggs does she like?"... its diff with each person....
If you've seen the movie you wud've understood... :)
My point here is this...
What I write in this blog is my perspective, my viewpoint, it is not about the 'right' thing.
So I'd be happy to hear your point of view... :)

Georgia Rules
Saw the movie Georgia Rule yesterday….. and it makes me wander once again ….. how similar all societies actually are…
Traditionally even the Britisher’s had a lot of family values… rules & regulations.. do’s & don’ts…. The institution of marriage was taken seriously, there would be a right thing to do.. and the right way to do things, mannerism was taken seriously & not a thing to be laughed at…
But what stuck me most … was a person’s inhibition to say ‘I love you’, to hug or to show any sign of affection towards their own family….
This is something that has been on my mind for sometime now…
In today’s world.. where we go around hugging strangers… and “love u’s” are exchanged at the drop of a hat… how many of us are comfortable saying “I love you mom/dad”, or holding their hands or hugging them..
I for one am not… for me it was a conscious decision, effort to hug my mom… coz by then I realized that its not just me who’s loosing …. & disliking the fact that I do not get a hug from my mom does not help… wht did help was realisingthe fact that she’s also at loss & helpless towards the stupid system that stopped her from showing signs of affection towards her kids….
Actually… as I type this there’s another thought that came to my mind… all the rules that mom’s keep drilling down their’s children are nothing but their way of saying they care…. But alas a child does not understand…… all he sees is that he’s not good enough…
Society’s change .. people change.. and its upto us to take what’s good from these traditions.. and change what is not…
They were not perfect… neither are we….
